Invited by the Institute of Global Health, Dr Margaret Chan, Dean of the Vanke School of Public Health (Tsingua University, Bejing, China), and former Director-General of the World Health Organization, explored in this lecture how vaccines and drugs are our common goods which need to be accessible and affordable through universal health coverage. Dr Chan based her demonstration from examples drawn from climate change and the Covid pandemic.
After her talk, she was joined on stage by students from the Universities of Tsingua and Geneva to take part in a panel discussion and engage with the audience on our common challenges in global health. The debate was moderated by Ilona Kickbusch, Director of the Digital Transformations of Health Lab, University of Geneva.
