Health and the environment

The COVID-19 pandemic and climate change have highlighted the interconnection between health and the environment.
Environmental degradation directly contributes to diseases and fatalities, while climate change intensifies agricultural and humanitarian challenges. Furthermore, human interference with ecosystems contributes to epidemics and antibiotic resistance, with healthcare systems themselves adding to the environmental impact. The GHF convenes researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to promote sustainable strategies that address these risks, safeguarding public health in the face of a rapidly changing environment.

Health Equity

At the core of the Geneva Health Forum’s mission lies a vision of “a world where health is a human right and access to health a reality for every human being”. While universal healthcare remains a top priority for the World Health Organization (WHO), rising health disparities highlight the need for innovative approaches beyond market-driven solutions. The Geneva Health Forum addresses these disparities by convening thought leaders, medical practitioners, and field actors dedicated to developing and implementing innovative and sustainable solutions to the barriers hindering access
to health for all.
